Holistic community development is better understood as ideal-concept rather than organizational practice. A holistic perspective recognizes the interdependence of factors—such as social, economic, environmental, and cultural needs—and seeks to create synergies among them, fostering a more resilient, vibrant, and thriving community for all. As practiced, development programs (with a holistic perspective) are effective by focusing on specific issues—collectively, different programs will affect holistic development.

Created in 1953, the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) continues to help small business owners and entrepreneurs pursue the American dream. SBA is the only cabinet-level federal agency fully dedicated to small business and provides counseling, capital, and contracting expertise as the nation’s only go-to resource and voice for small businesses. The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) helps Americans start, grow, and build resilient businesses. SBA was created in 1953 as an independent agency of the federal government to aid, counsel, assist and protect the interests of small business concerns; preserve free competitive enterprise; and maintain and strengthen the overall economy of our nation. SBA reviews Congressional legislation and testifies on behalf of small businesses. It assesses the impact of regulatory burden on small businesses.
